Science trumps the sandal wearers! So, organic farming is no better than modern, progressive farming methods, and may even be environmentally and economically harmfull. Who would have thunk it?

I don't believe it. I think it's a means to point fingers, despite what the congressional probe promises. The Bush Administration is going to take the fall for all the lapses and ineptitude, virtually all of which happened on another Administration's watch.
The War on Terror is far from over. I acknowledge this. However, we'd be a lot closer if we actually committed a serious effort to stop this. This is another Vietnam. Why? because we are tackling this problem politically instead of going in to win it and stop terrorism, bringing our antagonists to justice if possible. We aren't really bringing our might to bear on the issue.

It is most discomforting to see that in the thousands of years of recorded history, as much progress as we have made, humans are still ignorant and superstitious. Here's one article to demonstrate this. At least the last point brings some sense and science into it.
