I agree with both sides of the argument. Drug testing without cause is of dubious legality, yet participation in extracirricular activities is optional, so adminstrators should be able to run the programs as they see fit. When we get to mandatory drug testing of regular students we will have a real problem. Next, you can expect school health officials to test for cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

Osprey flies again. It's expensive, carries a lot of overruns, and has needed to be greatly modified to fly as advertised. Definitely not ready for primetime, it needs to go back to the drawing board, and educated engineers hired. But, no. Alas, it's a Defense contractor project, never intended to do more than pay contractor empoyees and give government administrators kick-backs. The Justices have made their ruling. Questions remain. The official language of this nation is American English. Explain this: Americans travel to Spain, there is no English signs, only Spanish. Yet, we must put up Spanish directions in our poling booths? How about adopting some of the culture of your new home nation? German settlers in China learned Chinese, why can't Hispanic settlers in America learn English? We shouldn't be quick to cry foul over voter disenfranchisement if the "disenfranchised" took the voting responsibility far too lightly.

This development isn't surprising. Gun Control laws are supposed to reduce crime. But, like this article quotes, why were there 676 Chicago homicides last year, three fourths of which were gun related? If there are no guns, there is no crime, right?

So nice to have a holiday weekend. Go fishing, have a barbeque with the family, sleep in late, and, best of all, forget what a computer is for three days. I did not forget what the holiday was for. I am always thankfull for the sacrifices of our fallen warriors to keep this land free.
