Any old excuse to hammer away at SDI and it's derivatives. Maybe we should gather in groups and bang gongs, drums, and shout at eclipses to scare away the dragons? That should work against incoming missiles, asteroids, etc., as well, no?

OK, it's official: Hollywood is out of original ideas. Not that I mind, because the old shows are just so much better than the drivel televised as entertainment today. I just hope they don't turn it into an excuse for more action and less crime drama.
Bad news for the family. My Stepmother, who has been battling breast cancer for a few years now, has little hope at this point. I'll be going out for a visit soon, so posting will be slow, at best.
If anyone is wondering what charities to donate to, I'd recommend medical research, especially cancer.

Some issues are science, some are not. This one is all politics, with no real science involved. There has been no consensus on Global Warming. This issue is largely driven by politicians and non-scientists. It's a money maker, bound to fill the Federal coffers if Congress manages to lose any semblance of intelligence over it.
Bulldoze all the buildings in Jenin, then, and bankrupt Hussein. Easy. Hasn't he already stated he has no money to feed his people because of the UN sanctions from the Gulf War? Then this should serve to oust him all the sooner, and you get the added bonus that if he is sending cash to Palestinians, he isn't spending that money on his own military or on NBC weapons.
Somewhat busy weekend. I drained the pool to clean the liner and check for a leak (I've been losing about 1 -2 inches of water a day somewhere, that can't all be from evaporation). I cut down and chopped up a tree to make a barrier to keep the neighbour kids from four-wheeling all over my front lawn. I checked first, there was no unwashed tree-hugger perched atop the tree before it fell. I did plant another tree in the yard to compensate - take down a pine, plant a leafy tree in it's place. We raked up the back yard, mostly we, because it was a bit of a fight to get the kids to help and cooperate. I could have used some duct tape to silence their bickering. I tried to get my daughter to help weed the garden, but that lasted all of fifteen minutes.
Now, If I could only get the lawnmower to work.
