I'm most likely not going to be posting on weekends. I do this from work in my free moments. I have no internet access at home for several reasons. So, I'll take notes of the things that tweak my ears over the weekends and post them Mondays. Or maybe not. Perhaps I'll just do yard work, play games with the kids, and drink myself silly at night. Not that it would take long to get to the silly part anyway.
Here's some weekend occupation: All the Junk that's fit to debunk!
The first games of the first round of Stanley Cup playoffs are in the books. Some surprises: Carolina won a game at home. Vancouver didn't choke after the terrific run ending the season. And the Canadiens pull off an upset in Boston. I am saddened that my team didn't make the playoffs after a six year run in which they've been robbed by officiating mistakes twice in critical games. Last year's officials were much better, though I really wish the league would get more consistent on applying the rules against hacking. Clean up the game a bit. You know, old time hockey, like Eddie Shore.
Microsoft is all about competition and innovation. Sure. Just as long as it's not competing with it's only major competitor.

I know how to get to space: claim it will solve Global Warming and close the hole in the Ozone Layer. Then, if government doesn't spend money on establishing reusable, efficient transportation, more space stations, a base on the moon and a Mars mission, the Greens and the rest of us can complain about them being against the environment, and they'll lose votes. Thus, we get a government/ commercial space program that actually does something besides soak the taxpayers.
Maybe.
By appearances, the only scientists who use peer-review are obviously not environmental scientists. Chicken Little is making his claims, again. So far, I have yet to see or hear any evidence of Global Climate Change - only lots of speculation on incomplete or skewed data, and certainly no "consensus".
Here's an idea: make a hypothesis, do your experiments, then report on the results. What we've got now is: make a hyopothesis, fit data to the hypothesis, then report on the flawed results.
Scientific method for the new Millenium.
Wonderful. Hopefully, all Courts will eventually see that the entire Bill of Rights should not be infringed. Not just the parts one likes or benefits from.
Of course, the Liberals will try another tactic to determine and enforce what they think is good for the rest of us. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
Ok. I've just finished my third, and the company's fourth, DSL set up for a client. It has NEVER gone smoothly. 100% failure rate. Maybe it's because we are in a small-market town. Maybe it's because the local telco is incompetent, or just doesn't care. I may just end up ranting about technology for the rest of the day.
There is always two sides to a story. Naturally, the Israeli's are the liars.

Ken Adelman, in this Fox News Editorial, has it right. The problem is a liar will never be believed, even when he is telling the truth. Nobody believes Arafat anymore, at least not those of us without TNT in our pockets.
Everyone has an opinion on the Israeli/ Palestinian problem. As I see it, we have a people, surrounded by hostile neighbours, who are just trying to ensure their survival. However, they may be overzealous in this operation. On the other side of the coin, we have a people taught from birth that Jews are infidels and deserve only death, and that to kill yourself with as many of your enemy as possible is as close to Godliness as a believer can get.
Is it just me, or is there something very wrong with that? Moral relativism be damned. Freedom fighters don't target women and children as military objectives. I will forever remain unconvinced of otherwise.
Ok. We begin slowly. This will be an infrequently updated log, totally random and without rhyme or reason. Welcome into my head.
